What is the Process for Ordering an Appraisal?
We make the real estate appraisal process as simple and straightforward as possible for you. Here is how it works:
-
When you call, we’ll ask you a few questions, including your name, address, email address, the property address being appraised, the purpose of the appraisal, and whenyou need it completed.
-
After our call, we will visit the county assessor's website and pull what’s called the tax card. Every piece of real estate has a unique Tax ID number with a corresponding cardon file at the assessor’s office. This card contains basic property information, including lot size, building square footage, building type, year built, and more.
-
We’ll prepare a proposal for you, which includes our fee and the turnaround time for completing the appraisal.
-
We’ll email the proposal to you via DocuSign. If everything looks good, you can sign it electronically and submit the 50% retainer using any major credit or debit card.
-
Once the proposal is signed and the retainer is paid, we’ll call you to schedule a property inspection.
-
On the day of the inspection, our licensed appraiser will visit the property to take photos and measurements. Depending on the property size, this process may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
-
After the inspection, we’ll return to our office and begin working on your appraisal.
-
Upon completion, we’ll email you a digital copy of the appraisal along with your final invoice.
-
If you have any questions about the appraisal, we’re happy to schedule a phone call to walk you through it and provide any necessary clarifications.
